Today's installment of Friday Five is five local dog-friendly races, all for a good cause! As you know, Matilda is one of my favorite running companions. She jogs with me quite a bit (9 min/miles) and then she "runs" with Dustin (usually around a 7:30 min/mile) on his easy run days. She recently had her 5 minutes of fame in this month's issue of Runner's World. She's definitely a Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Welcome to July!
It's been awhile since I did a weekly recap. It's time to get back to it! The Week After Marathon: The week immediately following Grandma's Marathon I didn't run at all. I did one [solidcore] class on Thursday morning. Saturday, I did my first "post-Grandma's" run, just an easy 4 mile with Matilda the vizsla. After the run, Dustin and I attended my friend Ericka's "Bells & Beers" Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: 9 Weeks Until Grandma’s Marathon!
Looking for some spring running gear? Check out some tips from yours truly and a few other local runners in this post from Minneapolis Running. Let me know if you have any other spring running tips, I'd love to hear them! I'm so excited for my running friends who are out in Boston for tomorrow's race! There are about 15 people from my running club there this year, and I'm hoping they all have Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: 5 days until the Tokyo Marathon.
Happy President's Day! I hope you were able to enjoy a nice 3-day weekend. Here we are, just a week before the Tokyo Marathon. Actually, I have less than a week. The race is Sunday morning at 9 am, but since Tokyo is 15 hours ahead of Minneapolis, I'll be starting my 26.2 mile tour of Japan's capital city at 6 pm (for most of you) next Saturday night. I will of course bring my laptop with me Continue Reading
Week 10 of Training for the Tokyo Marathon & Sound Probiotics
Remember this post, when I first announced that I would be running the Tokyo Marathon? It was a week before the Outer Banks Marathon. It seems like ages ago! On November 9th, I ran the Outer Banks Marathon after which I took 2 weeks off from training. Then I dove right back in to preparing for the Tokyo Marathon. Now I am on week 10 of training with only 3 weeks left to go! Here's how Continue Reading
The Right Fits Most Loved Posts of 2014
As 2014 comes to a close, I thought I should look back at the 10 most popular posts at the Right Fits of 2014. In October, I made a big change to the blog design and unfortunately, I lost a lot of readers. I'm hoping some of you find your way back, but even if you don't, I'll just keep on writing...because I really like doing it. It's my online journal. It's my creative outlet. And this year Continue Reading
Tilda Tuesday: Winter Running With Your Dog.
Sunday marked one week since the Outer Banks marathon. After a week of no running, I decided it was time to go for an easy run and I brought Matilda (the vizsla) with me. Now, neither of us had run since winter hit in Minneapolis, as it was in the 40/50's when we left for vacation. But if I was going to run, I was going to have to face the cold....and cold it was! Sunday morning was a windy 6 Continue Reading
