Well, this was a bit of an interesting week in training due to my work trip/offsite meeting in Montauk. Here's how things went: Monday: I was up and running before 5 am to fit in 6 miles before my uber picked me up to head to the airport. I flew into LGA; the drive from the airport to our hotel (Guerney's on Star Island in Montauk) was about 3 hours. We arrived in time to check-in and shower Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: 21 Weeks Until the Houston Marathon
Remember when I used to post here 3-4 times a week? I miss those days! Now I'm happy to just get my weekly recap out. Honestly, it's just harder in the summer to stay inside to write at the computer. I should try to write ALL my posts in the winter and just post them throughout the summer! Well, at least I'm still checking in here once a week with my weekly recap of recovery from my broken Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: 20 Weeks Post-Broken Leg
This is officially the last week I'm going to count back from when I broke my leg. I mean, TWENTY weeks- that's a long time to keep talking about an injury. Granted, it was a traumatic one, but I think it's time to look forward. It's time to focus on getting back into running shape. Focus on the future. That broken leg is just a bad memory! Speaking of running, this week actually had a lot of Continue Reading

But I definitely don't have a marathon on the horizon to count down to; it's going to take quite a bit of time to get back to that point in my running. But at least I'm running again! If you’re only stopping in for the weekly recap, please Continue Reading

I broke my leg; this was my recovery.
On February 16th, my life as I knew it changed drastically (so dramatic, but it's true!); I was three weeks out from the Antarctica Marathon. I was running 60-70 miles a week; running was a huge part of my life. In some ways, running WAS my life. But then, I took a terrible fall on a 20 mile run and broke my tibia and fibula. Running was no longer a part of my life. Antarctica was off the Continue Reading
