Happy Sunday! I'm here with my weekly recap, as always. Join Jess and me for our link-up, details at the end of this post. Here's how training went this week for the New York City Marathon! Monday: Track time! I met my friends Lindsey and Ryan at a local track for some 200m repeats. I was surprised my coach had 200m on my schedule the day after the Raspberry Run 1 mile, but I suppose since I Continue Reading
Fits On The Road: Anderson Valley, California
Today's post is a picture-heavy recap of our recent long weekend in Anderson Valley, California. Anderson Valley is a sparsely populated region of Northern California, abut 100 miles north of San Francisco; wine country for pinot noir fans! If you plan to visit this area in the future, hopefully this post will be of value to you. (Pin it to Pinterest for future reference!) We flew into San Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Easing Back into Running…
After last week's little health scare (if you missed it, I fainted in the shower and took quite a fall), I had to take it easy for a few days- doctor's orders. I'm also dealing with some new (unrelated to the fall) aches and pains in my left leg; I'll definitely be going to Orthology this week for some soft tissue work. With that said, I still was able to run & workout a bit this week, but Continue Reading
A Visit to Detroit and the RRCA Level 1 Coaching Certification
Last Wednesday through Sunday, I was in Detroit, Michigan. The primary purpose of my visit was the RRCA Level 1 Coaching Certification Course. It was also just a fun weekend with my sister Erin, who decided to join me in the course. This post is a recap of our weekend and short summary of what I learned. The Course: The RRCA Level 1 Coaching Certification usually takes two days, but ours Continue Reading
Friday Five: Five Things You Need for a Successful Long Run While Traveling
Two weekends ago, I was in Napa Valley with my sisters, husband, and two brother-in-laws for a 40th birthday celebration. I had to be flexible with my training schedule, so I moved my long run to Monday. Dustin and I added two days on the end of the trip to spend in San Francisco and that city seemed like a good place to run 20 miles. The run was a lot of fun; I feel like we saw just as much Continue Reading
Fits on the Road: A Birthday Weekend in Napa!
I spent last weekend in Napa with my four sisters (and three of the husbands who could make it- a few stayed back to take care of their kids!) Dustin and I flew direct from Minneapolis to San Francisco on Thursday evening. We arrived around 9 pm and quickly grabbed our rental car. We coordinated flights with two of my sisters so that we could give them a ride with us. It's close to an hour and a Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Happy Fourth of July!
I hope you are enjoying a long holiday weekend. Did you run a 4th of July race? Please share! I ran a 5k on Saturday, but no race today (the actual 4th.) I did attempt my first hard workout today since Grandma's on the hills of the cabin roads. Killer. So, I'm here with my regular weekly recap of training for....not sure yet! I am leaning towards Big Cottonwood in Utah. I have thought about Continue Reading
