Every marathon is special in its own way. I have fond memories of all of them, from the tiny Marathon-to-Marathon in Iowa to the world-renowned Berlin Marathon! As corny as it is, each marathon was an important part of my running journey. I could write a post about what I loved about each and every one, even the ones that were really hot or where I had a disappointing personal performance. With Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Big Cottonwood Training
Training for Big Cottonwood is up and running! I am back up to the high mileage again and excited to see what I can do at the Big Cottonwood Marathon. Here's how my training went this past week: Monday: The same workout as last week at the cabin, but this time I did it in Minneapolis before work- much easier on flat roads! 2 mile warm-up, 6x1200m at a 7:30 pace with 1 minute recovery, 2 Continue Reading
Weekly Recap & The Post-Marathon Blues.
I have a bit of the post-marathon blues. I trained hard for Grandma's Marathon and it didn't go the way I had hoped. I think another reason for the blues that normally when I finish a marathon, I have the next one selected and a potential trip booked to look forward to. But this time? I'm a little lost. I don't know what's next on my racing schedule. I don't have my next marathon Continue Reading

Pure Barre class after work. Wednesday: 6 Continue Reading

After coming very close to qualifying for Boston at Richmond, I ramped back up and raced the Phoenix Marathon at the end of February, where I DID qualify for Boston. But, as many of you know, 34 seconds under the Continue Reading

Fitting Remarks: 10 Things You Can Expect to See at an International Marathon
The Virgin Money London Marathon was my third international marathon. (Catch up on the race recap here!) I have now run Berlin, Tokyo, and London and while running three international marathons definitely does not make me an expert, it's still a bit of experience. Based on that bit of experience, I have come up with a list of things you can expect to see at an international marathon. Now, to Continue Reading
