On Monday, I shared my race recap of the Imogene Pass Run, which was held on Saturday, September 12. That post focused on the race, but I wanted to share some of the other things that we did during this short little Colorado getaway. This is a primarily a fitness blog, but I like using it as a place to share my travels as well! Hopefully you find it useful if you ever find yourself heading to Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Welcome to July!
It's been awhile since I did a weekly recap. It's time to get back to it! The Week After Marathon: The week immediately following Grandma's Marathon I didn't run at all. I did one [solidcore] class on Thursday morning. Saturday, I did my first "post-Grandma's" run, just an easy 4 mile with Matilda the vizsla. After the run, Dustin and I attended my friend Ericka's "Bells & Beers" Continue Reading
Fits on the Road: Minneapolis in the Spring!
I often share "Fits on the Road" posts when I travel to different locations. Today, I thought it would be fun to share what I did during my parents' recent visit to MY city...A Fits on the Road Stay-cation- Twin Cities edition! They arrived Sunday afternoon from LaCrosse WI, where they had visited my younger sister, who was there visiting her in-laws. For the Sunday of their arrival, I had Continue Reading
Fits on the Road in Boulder, Colorado
We spent last weekend in beautiful Colorado! We were there primarily for Dustin's 50k race in Larkspur, but we made it into a nice long weekend getaway. We arrived on Friday, and as I wrote in this post, stopped for lunch at True Food Kitchen in Denver before making our way to the packet pickup. After packet pickup, we wandered around a bit at the shops nearby before finding our way back to our Continue Reading
Fits Do Race Reviews: The Greenland Trail 25k (and 50k) in Larkspur, CO
Dustin survived his first "ultra!" I tagged along and survived my first trail run (25k) at altitude. The word "ultra" marathon is such a broad term. I guess it means anything longer than 26.2 miles and most "ultras" are trail races. It seems that in the "ultra" world, the 50k distance is just a "beginner" race into the world of ultra long distance, with 50 and 100 milers being quite popular. Continue Reading
Where to Run in Singapore
I have added a page to the blog with posts about "Where to Run" in different locations. My idea is that this page on The Right Fits will be a helpful resource when you are traveling to different destinations and want to go for a long run (or a short run!) I write a lot about running in different locations, so this page will be a summary of what I have learned. This is where I need YOUR help! I Continue Reading
Fits on the Road: Staying at a Ryokan in Japan
Our first night in Kyoto we stayed at a regular hotel, but the second night, we stayed at a traditional Japanese ryokan. Our ryokan was called Hiiragaya Ryokan and it was awesome.
