Yes, you read that right; 16 weeks until the Patagonia International Marathon in Chile! This trip and marathon have technically been on my calendar for quite awhile; it's a place I'm dying to visit and a marathon there will get Dustin and me one continent closer to our "seven continents" goal. 2020 was supposed to be such a great year of travel, with Bhutan in May (cancelled) and then Continue Reading
Week 9 of the Quarantine
Week 9 of the quarantine.... Week 9. Crazy, right? But things are changing a bit in Minneapolis; a little bit, that is. Read on. To start, I have to admit that this week was a little sad, as we were supposed to be leaving for Bhutan this past Friday to run the Thunder Dragon marathon there. Delta Airlines still sent me a notification that my boarding pass was ready on Thursday; Continue Reading
Week 8 of the Quarantine
'Twas a good week. Maybe this shelter-in-place isn't so bad? Yes, I miss my friends and family and travel, but I'm surviving. Thank goodness for running! It didn't hurt that the weather was wonderful for runs; clear and mid-40's in the morning nearly every day. Here's how my fitness wrapped up this week: Monday: 5 miles solo, 1.4 with Ruth (our vizsla); 9:05 min/mile average. Discover Continue Reading
Week 7 of the Quarantine
Pictured above- keeping social distance for a virtual 1 mile race! Another week of sheltering in place...here's my recap of how I stayed sane via fitness! Monday: 8 miles, 9:05 min/mile pace before work, Discover Strength after work. It was pouring pretty heavily on this run, but was relatively warm (58 degrees) so not the worst run, but was definitely drenched at the Continue Reading
Week 6 of the Quarantine
Well, this was definitely a week. It started out okay, but ended on a bit of a low. Before I get into my recap, I just wanted to share this post from earlier this week interviewing my running friend Christie (per inspiration from Kim's blog!) Check it out! Here's my recap: Monday: 8 easy miles before work, final 1.5 with Ruth. Virtual 1:1 strength training session after work with a Continue Reading
Interview with a Running Buddy!
I'm sure many of you are missing your running friends; I know that I am! Even as an introvert, this sheltering-in-place has made me realize more than ever how important those running friendships are, and I can't wait to run with my friends again. Since we're not running together in real life, I thought this was a good time to share an interview with my running friend Christie! (Thanks to Continue Reading
Week 5 of the Quarantine
Wow....week 5. I can't believe it's been that long! And when will it end? How will it end? So much unknown. I'll just keep trucking along with training for whatever comes next! I felt like this tweet from Des Linden this week was right on point; this is when we train because we love the process! Here's how I "loved the process" this week! Monday: 6 treadmill miles before work, Continue Reading
