Our second day in Kyoto was quite a gloomy, wet one weather-wise. It was bound to happen; we had plenty of sunshine throughout the trip, so it seems inevitable that there would eventually be a rainy day or two. Fortunately, we had brought umbrellas. You know what I always say, you never regret bringing your umbrella...you only regret not bringing your umbrella. It wasn't so bad wandering in the Continue Reading
Fits on the Road: Exploring Kyoto- Part 1
I know, I know, the Right Fits is supposed to be about Fitness and Fashion but I like to use it to share pictures from traveling too! So bear with me for just a few more posts from Japan. After our day in Hiroshima, we took the Shinkansen to Kyoto! Kyoto was probably my FAVORITE city that we visited in Japan. It was so beautiful and charming. It has a very surreal old-school Japanese feel Continue Reading
Fits on the Road: Exploring Hiroshima
After exploring Tokyo and a traditional Nabe dinner, Dustin and I caught the 6 am Shinkansen train to Hiroshima. The Shinkansen is an incredibly fast (200 miles per hour) train in Japan. Each time we took this train, we decided to go with the Green cars, which are a bit nicer and allow you to reserve your spot. I preferred riding the Shinkansen to flying! It was so easy and relaxing. Fits on the Road in Tokyo: Shibuya and a Nabe Dinner
I left off on my Tokyo travel posts after our visit to the Tsukiji Fish Market and sushi lunch. Right after the sushi, we explored Ginza, which is an upscale part of Tokyo with lots of gorgeous department stores, boutiques, and restaurants. It's often touted as one of the most luxurious shopping districts in the world! We weren't really look to buy any upscale merchandise, but it was still fun to Continue Reading

While the inner wholesale market has restricted access to visitors, the outer retail market and restaurants remain a major tourist attraction for both domestic and Continue Reading
Fits on the Road: The Day Before the Tokyo Marathon & the Tokyo Sky Tree

Leading up to the race, there was a bit more down time since we didn't want to be on our legs too much so I was able to catch up with you here and here. But since then, it's been go, go, go! I have been working on the marathon recap and hope to have that done soon, but first, here are a few pictures from the day Continue Reading

The Tokyo Marathon expo was held at the Tokyo Big Sight, a new convention center in Tokyo. source We went to the expo as part of the Marathon Tour group on Friday. Read about the rest of our city tour here. The tour dropped us off and said we had about one hour to spend there. Based on our experience at the Berlin Marathon expo, where we waited in lines many hours, we were both worried that Continue Reading
