Let's take a walk down memory lane, shall we? All the way back to the year 2010...yes, let's go back TEN years. In the winter of 2010, I was really into Corepower Yoga. I had an unlimited membership and took classes at least 3 times a week, sometimes more! I also ran marathons (I had trained for 7, completed 6), but I trained for those marathons entirely on my own. I did not have running Continue Reading
5 Weeks Until the Fargo Marathon
Another big week of running complete for my "highest-mileage-month" challenge! Though there was a lot of running, I did not run anywhere near the 80 miles I hit last week; that was just a one time thing for me. But it was still a full week. Here's how things went in training for the Fargo Marathon (in just 5 weeks!) Monday: 4 miles with Ruth before work, 8:50 min/mile, Discover Strength Continue Reading
6 Weeks Until the Fargo Marathon
Well, the Fargo Marathon is still on, as far as we know. This week brought several marathon cancellations (Philadelphia, the Tunnel Light Marathon, Chicago, and others I'm sure!) but Fargo says they are still on. Even if the forecast looks great on race day, I still don't know for sure that I'll do Fargo; I'm waiting to hear what kind of safety precautions they have in place and how they are Continue Reading
7 Weeks Until the Fargo Marathon
My "highest-mileage-month" challenge is most definitely underway, though the summer storms and heat did not make it easy this week. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I'm tentatively planning to run the Fargo Marathon on August 29th, dependent on two things- the pandemic and the weather. TBD if I'll run it or not, but I am registered, so I'm training accordingly. Monday: I ran 5 miles before Continue Reading
8 Weeks Until the Fargo Marathon
I hope everyone had a lovely long holiday weekend! On a normal year, Dustin and I would be up at his family's cabin, running a 4th of July 5k, and then watching the fireworks. This year, we're not sure we'll be going to the cabin all summer; just one of many changes due to the pandemic, I guess! This year, we stayed in Minneapolis and did lot of house projects and hanging around in the Continue Reading
12 Weeks Until the Patagonia Marathon
Hello hello! I'm a bit behind with my weekly recap; in fact, I missed the link-up that I usually do as part of my recap. But for good reason! We were camping in Madeline Island in Wisconsin with very limited wifi. First things first, I decided to end my Covid WFH run streak at 97 days. I started on March 13 and ran every day, at least 3 miles a day and up to 16 miles as my longest run, for Continue Reading
13 Weeks Until the Patagonia Marathon
Another week of training for the Patagonia Marathon, the marathon that may-or-may not happen. I'm sure many of you are in the same boat! I'll just keep on running and training because...well, because I love running and training! Here's how running and training went this past week: Monday: Whoah, it was steamy this morning. I think Minneapolis may have hit 100 degrees later in the day. It Continue Reading
