It’s been FIFTEEN weeks since I broke my leg. Such a long time. If you’re new to this blog, you can read my story in Runner’s World HERE. I was interviewed a few weeks ago for the article. This post, this post, and this post are also a great place to catch up. I was an avid marathoner, running 3-4 marathons a year, and was well into training for the Antarctica Marathon when I broke my tibia and Continue Reading
My Favorite Running Gear: Part 2 of a Crowd-Sourced Series
Since I’m not personally able to test out any new running gear these days, I thought this was the perfect time to do a series of posts featuring your favorite running gear. A crowd-sourced series of the best running gear from voices other than just mine! I’m reaching out to all the runners that I know to share their most favorite running gear; it’s interesting because I’m already starting to Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: 11 Weeks Post-Broken Leg
Hello there and welcome to my blog! If you're new to The Right Fits, let me catch you up on my current situation. This post, this post, and this post are a great place to start. Basically, I was an avid marathoner, running 3-4 marathons a year, and was well into training for the Antarctica Marathon when I broke my tibia and fibula on a wintry Minneapolis run. Weekly Recap…
If you missed my post from yesterday, you might want to catch up here. With this drastic change in plans (an undesired change, mind you), I doubt I'll have much to share in weekly recaps for fitness for awhile. But I still want to continue connecting with you all, so I'll probably share recaps of my recovery. (HoHo Runs and Wendy, I hope that's okay!) But I did have one regular week left of Continue Reading
56 Weeks Until The Antarctica Marathon: Change of Plans.

According to the ER doc, I will need surgery ASAP to put in plates. I can't make any appointments until Monday, so for now I wait, uncomfortably... And...Antarctica is off the table. So Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: 6 Weeks Until the Antarctica Marathon
Another wintry week of training for the Antarctica Marathon, while living in Minneapolis! Here's how everything went this past week: Monday: 8 mile run commute into the office. Slippery, snowy, same old story in Minnesota in January. Tuesday: Rest day! I had a work event at a cooking school; it was so much fun! Wednesday: I was awake and in my running clothes, ready to run commute. I Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Training for the Antarctica Marathon
Cheers to running outside! Though my paces were slower than normal, I got outside for all but 10 out of 60 miles of running. Yay! Here's how this week of training for the Antarctica marathon went: Monday: HUGE blizzard in Minnesota, just as forecasted. I think in the city we received over a foot of snow. It was the most snow in a single day in the past 7 years; it was nuts. It started in the Continue Reading
