By JessieSpring in Minnesota offers up several great races, from 5k's, 10k's, 10 milers, 1/2 marathons, to anything and everything in between. Of course, runners can't do them ALL; both physically and financially, that would be quite a challenge. So here is a list of the races I have on my spring calendar. Please share your experiences with any of these races if you have some tips!Goldy's Continue Reading
Fits Do Race Reviews: St. Jude Memphis Marathon
Yesterday, the D-man and I ran the St. Jude Memphis Marathon. The expo was held at the Memphis Cook Convention Center. It was a medium-sized expo, with a lot of St. Jude Hospital apparel for sale, as well as the normal expo vendors. We grabbed our bibs and shirts, and browsed the goods for about a half hour. My sister lives right off the $1 downtown trolley, so we headed back to her Continue Reading
Race Recap: TGiving Turkey Trot
By: LLThe 4th Annual TGiving Turkey Trot was a success, and as a follow up to this post, I wanted to do a race review of the 2011 race. The weather was perfect for the race - 40s, overcast, with little to no wind (very warm for the Midwest). We had a total of 15 participants (3 of which were walkers and 1 cycler). The course was well marked and the Race Marshall was present throughout the Continue Reading
Fits Do Race Reviews: T-Giving Turkey Trot

It all started four years ago when my parents' town had their road race the weekend before the holiday. That did not deter us. Instead, we mapped out a route, set up signs, set up "water stations," and held our inaugural Continue Reading
Fits Do Race Reviews: Monster Dash 1/2 Marathon Recap
By: Cool JYesterday, D-man, my sister E, and I all ran the Monster Dash 1/2 marathon. Neither the D-man nor I had a PR, but we felt good throughout the race, and had a positive experience. And I'm very proud of E, who did an AMAZING job running the farthest she has run since becoming a "mommy". Prior to having her first kid 3.5 years ago, she had run a marathon and several 1/2's, but Continue Reading
Fits do race reviews: Monster Dash 1/2 marathon
By: Cool JNext Saturday, one of LL and my sisters is coming up to my city for the Monster Dash 1/2 marathon. She has been training very hard post-baby, and this is her "comeback race". I'm looking forward to sharing this experience with her, and will be very proud when she crosses the finish line. We discussed running together, but our paces are a little different, and she said she would Continue Reading
Race Review: St. George Marathon
I realize that I didn't give a complete race review of the St. George marathon, so here goes: Entry is by lottery only, unless you are a local. My husband and I were able to register for the lottery as a couple, meaning either both of us got in, or neither of us got in. We found out in May that we were in! We booked our hotel stay at the Inn at Entrada. It's smart to book your room right away, as Continue Reading
