By JessieDustin and I are set to run the "Marathon to Marathon" this Saturday. It runs from Storm Lake, Iowa to Marathon, Iowa. We've done all the training. We didn't miss any long runs, and put in a lot of miles throughout the weeks. However, we've had to adjust our expectation for one reason....the weather.Storm Lake Forecast: Saturday93 | 70 °FAs runners, we can control a lot of things -- Continue Reading
Fits Do Race Reviews (sort of): The Minneapolis Marathon
By JessieLet me start off this post right away by stating that I did not participate in any of the Minneapolis Marathon events! I'm only writing this "review" from the point of view of a spectator. Please share your insights in the comments if you have actual experience with this race! The Minneapolis Marathon is relatively new. I believe this is only the third year of its existence. It's very Continue Reading
Fits Do Race Reviews: TC 1 Mile
By JessieI participated in the TC 1 Mile last week, which was the second time that I ran this unique event. It was a hot, windy Thursday evening. When I met up with two run club friends for a few miles of warmup beforehand, we could tell the conditions were not ideal. The race included multiple "waves," the first of which was the "Friends and Family" wave. Since we were at the start Continue Reading

Failed Fit: Running in the Rain
By JessieIt's raining out there, Minneapolis! It's wet, it's muddy, and it's probably not your favorite time to run.But don't fret! Just because it's raining, doesn't mean you should skip your run. My husband and I ran the Twin Cities Marathon in 2008, when it was pouring rain the entire time. And afterwards, we both remarked on what an adventure it was. We still had good experiences.Rain does not Continue Reading
Failed Fit- Treadmill time….
By JessieLast Thursday, I was at work late, and ended up missing my second scheduled kettlebell class. I needed to "fit fitness" in somehow. I thought about running outside, but unfortunately our 50 degree heat wave was over. The temperature had fallen quite a bit, and as I left my office around 7 pm, the blustering wind and 6 degree temperatures quickly eliminated my fitness motivation. So, Continue Reading
