Hello everyone! I'm here with my weekly recap of fitness & fitness fashion! There wasn't a ton of fitness this week, as it was a recovery week after the Fargo marathon last weekend. If you missed my race recap, be sure to read it HERE. It was a great marathon! Now, it's on to training for the next state! I'm running the Route 66 marathon in Tulsa, Oklahoma on November 21st, just 7 weeks Continue Reading
Fits do Race Reviews: The 2021 Fargo Marathon
Last Saturday, I ran my 36th full marathon, and checked off North Dakota as my 25th state in my quest to run a marathon in all 50 states. (See the list of marathons I've run HERE.) Dustin and I drove up to Fargo from Minneapolis on Friday, which is about a 3.5 hour drive. We arrived around 1 pm, had a quick sandwich at a Potbelly's chain, then went to the expo at the Fargodome. (The Fargodome Continue Reading
The Week of the Fargo Marathon
Well, I did it. I ran my 36th marathon and 25th state (officially halfway done) yesterday. I will share a race recap this week- stop by! But first, I wanted to recap the week of the race, as that's an important one too! Monday: Short little workout- 3 miles easy, 6x 1/2 mile at marathon effort with 1 minute jog in between, 1 mile cool down, 7.75 miles, 9:05 min/mile average. The idea with Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: One Week Until the Fargo Marathon
As I publish this post, there is less than one week until the Fargo Marathon! It's a Saturday marathon, which I LOVE. The weather is looking a tad bit toasty in Fargo; hopefully that will change in a week. After a disappointing (for me) time at Idaho (3:52), my primary goal for Fargo is to stay totally in control and feel strong the whole way, which for me I think should hopefully equate to Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: 2 Weeks Until the Fargo Marathon
Two weeks to go! My 36th marathon will be on September 25th. This week still had some longer miles, but the next two weeks will be the 'serious' taper. Even though Fargo is only a 4 hour drive from Minneapolis, I actually have never been. Any readers have any recommendations for post-race celebrations? Let me know! Here's how training went this week as I started the taper: Monday: Labor Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: 3 Weeks Until the Fargo Marathon
Welcome to September! I can't believe how quickly the summer flew by; here we are at Labor Day weekend...And just three weeks out from the Fargo Marathon! Here's how training went this past week: Monday: After traveling to Hood to Coast, I decided it would be best to wait to run with others until I waited a few days and then got a Covid test, so solo runs for most of this week. I slept in Continue Reading
4 Weeks Until the Fargo Marathon
Four weeks until the Fargo Marathon and another unique week of training to recap. I'll just dive right in... Monday: 7.2 miles before work, 9 min/mile average. 5 with friends, 2 with Ruth at the end. A few Peloton strength classes after work (30 minute Strength for Runners with Matt Wilpers and a 10 minute core class) Tuesday: Workout Tuesday in the middle of a TERRIBLE storm. Not my Continue Reading
