Welcome to October, my favorite month of the year! October represents so many wonderful things to me- my birthday, our wedding anniversary, marathons (especially the Twin Cities Marathon!), fantastic running weather, all things fall- pumpkins, apple picking, (#sobasic)- I could go on and on about all the reasons I love October. It's seriously my favorite month and it's off to a great start so far. Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: 7 Weeks Until the Richmond Marathon
I'm behind on my weekly recaps! I know that these recap posts aren't my most popular type of posts, but personally I enjoy writing them. I like reflecting back on my training each week and documenting it all down here. So stick with me please :) September 7-13: Monday: Labor Day! We were at the cabin, so Dustin joined me for my tempo run. I had 2 miles to warm-up, then 6 miles at a tempo Continue Reading
Fits Do Race Reviews: The Imogene Pass Run
Last Saturday, I “ran” the Imogene Pass Run and it was intense. I put the word “ran” in quotations because no one except the elite runners at this race actually run the whole thing. The majority of participants hike a significant portion of this run. The Imogene Pass Run is a 17.1 mile race from Ouray, CO to Telluride, CO over the Imogene Pass. It climbs from 7,700 feet at the start line in Continue Reading

On August 29, I ran the Team Ortho Women Rock 1/2 Marathon in St. Paul, MN. This event included a half-marathon, 10k, and 5k, as well as a 2.5k race on Friday night. There were special medals for runners who participated in three events which was called the Starlet Challenge. To earn this honor, you could run a combination of the 2.5k on Friday with 10k and 5k on Saturday, or 2.5k on Friday and Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Happy Labor Day!

Lots of running of course, but plenty of paddle-boarding and relaxing too. And good eating! I brought a few Hello Fresh meals up there to make, which were tasty. The next time we head to the cabin will be when I attend Continue Reading

Fitting Remarks: The Psychology of Racing
Last Tuesday night, I attended a "Tuesday Talk- The Psychology of Racing" at the Mill City Running store. Have you been to Mill City Running? What a cute "boutique" running store! If you haven't been, definitely check it out. They host "Flapjack Friday" runs every week at 6:30 am. I went to one a few weeks ago and it was a blast! Back to the Tuesday Talk: This was a free seminar last Continue Reading
