(pictured above: our friends from THIS post who met at a trail race and are getting married this fall!) Last Sunday, I ran the Salomon CITYTRAIL Loppet 10 mile race! There is also a 10k option with this event. Let me tell you, this was such a fun race! It was probably one of my favorite trail races so far, and that is high praise considering there are a lot of options in the Twin Cities Continue Reading
Fits Do Race Reviews: The TC 1 Mile!
Last Thursday evening, I ran the TC 1 mile race. I ran this race in 2011, 2012, and 2013. In 2014, the race was cancelled due to the weather. Last week, I ran it my 4th time! Minneapolis Running did a phenomenal recap of the race, sharing the details of Heather Kampf and Garrett Heath's wins for the evening. Definitely go check out that article here (Nice article, Sara!) The race attracts Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: A New Mileage PR!
I have a couple race recaps coming your way- the TC 1 mile and the Citytrail Loppet 10 miler. It was a busy week! But I don't want to get behind, so here's my quick weekly recap of training. Only 5 weeks until Grandma's Marathon. I'm getting excited! Monday: My parents were in town for a visit, so I had the day off of work. That didn't stop me from getting up early to get my miles in! 8 miles Continue Reading
Fitness Fashion Friday: The Brooks Running Jumper
I did it you guys...I bought a running onesie. A "runsie" according to Lululemon. Mine's from Brooks, so they are calling it a "jumper." A running jumper. Pretty ridiculous right? Or genius? I actually really like it! I have worn it for a few runs so far and it felt great. I did get a few strange looks...I think the whole romper idea is a bit new to Minneapolis! The lululemon Continue Reading
Q. Cumbers Restaurant, Corepower Yoga, and a Giveaway!
I have been logging quite a few weekly miles lately as I train for Grandma's Marathon. Rest, recovery, hydration, and diet are all more important than ever during this peak of marathon training season. But eating well is always a challenge; sometimes there's just not enough time in the day for meal prep. I work full time and usually try to bring my lunch from home, but it doesn't always work Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Two Weeks of Grandma’s Marathon Training!
With our trip to Colorado last weekend, I missed my weekly recap on Sunday. Here is a recap of Grandma's Marathon training from the past two weeks...it included quite a bit of running! Week of April 27- May 3 Monday: 7 easy miles with the run club Tuesday: I was stuck at work late this night and didn't start running until 7:45 pm. It was hard to get motivated but I knew I had to get it done. Continue Reading
Fits on the Road in Boulder, Colorado
We spent last weekend in beautiful Colorado! We were there primarily for Dustin's 50k race in Larkspur, but we made it into a nice long weekend getaway. We arrived on Friday, and as I wrote in this post, stopped for lunch at True Food Kitchen in Denver before making our way to the packet pickup. After packet pickup, we wandered around a bit at the shops nearby before finding our way back to our Continue Reading
