Weekly Recap: Home Sweet Home!

September 3, 2017 By Jessie Benson 23 Comments

My first full week back in the United States- woo-hoo! I had a great experience in India, but there's no place like home. And while I struggled to get the training in while I was overseas, it felt great to get back to it this week back in Minneapolis- where it's EASY to be a runner! I'm linking up as always with Jess from Jess Runs ATL, details below. Here's how last week's training for the Continue Reading

Fits on the Road: The Minnesota State Fair 2016

September 6, 2016 By Jessie Benson 6 Comments

Fits on the Road...at home! Warning, this post includes a lot of pictures! Minneapolis is a great city for runners. Don't believe me? Check out this recent article in Runner's World, ranking Minneapolis #7 of 50! So proud. Generally, this blog is all about running, but today we'll be talking about another thing that the Twin Cities are well-known for other than running- the Minnesota State Continue Reading

Fitting Remarks: A Reflection on my 2014 Minneapolis Summer Bucket List

September 17, 2014 By Jessie Benson 9 Comments

Labor Day has passed us by, so I suppose I should concede that summer is on it's way out... It doesn't officially end until September 22, but I figure it's time for me to reflect upon my summer bucket list and see how I did. Here we go!  1. Leave  a note for the elf on Lake Harriet. Come back later and search for a personalized response. Done! I left him a note on a Sunday and came back to Continue Reading

Fitting Remarks: Fulfilling My Summer Bucket List: The Minnesota StateFair!

August 31, 2014 By Jessie Benson 4 Comments

"Eat something on a stick at the Minnesota State Fair." This is one of the items on my Summer Bucket List. So this past Saturday, Dustin and I put on our comfortable walking shoes and headed to the Great Minnesota Get-Together! (You can read past recaps of the fair HERE and HERE.) Speaking of walking shoes, Dustin decided to wear his Garmin while we were at the fair. Guess what? We covered Continue Reading

Fitting Remarks: Why I Love the Cabin….

June 25, 2014 By Jessie Benson Leave a Comment

Like most Minnesotans, a highlight of our summers is heading “up north” to the cabin. My husband’s family has a place on a lake in northern Wisconsin, and I look forward to weekends up there in the summer. On the coasts, they have their beach homes, but in the Midwest, we relish the cabin life! There are so many reasons that I love weekends at the cabin, but I thought I’d share my top 12 Continue Reading

Thank you for stopping by!

This is my blog about finding The Right "Fit." I'm an avid runner, marathon enthusiast, and fitness experimentalist who uses my little space of the internet to share my passion for and experiences with running and fitness (...and a little about fashion.)

I write mostly about running and my quest to run a marathon in every state and every continent. But you'll also find some information about different fitness classes in the Twin Cities and more.

It was my “PW” time in quite a while (except the wine marathon in Médoc but that doesn’t really count 😆) but after taking several weeks off at an important time of the training block due to a tendon injury (and battling a cold on race day 🤧) I am still proud of myself and happy to have completed another marathon. Thanks to @donalmorancoaching for coaching me through the injury (I’m the first to admit I’m terrible when injured 😑- he’s very patient and thoughtful with his guidance)

Paris is a lovely course, showing off the best parts of the city with brilliant crowd support, good weather (maybe a little warm), followed by a few days in Reims for champagne tasting with @dustinrbenson & @emariecantu made for a memorable experience with lots of laughs 🥳

March in London was actually sunny and warm(ish), making up for the dreary months prior (weather-wise and mentally!)

Started the month with a day trip to hike Seven Sisters (so pretty!), a cautious return to running, a colour analysis (I’m a cool summer!) flowers, birds, a bit more running…and an official extension of our visas, guess we are here for a few more years 🥳

Two weeks off of running (so far), physio, dry needling, shockwave therapy, and sports massage…I’m not sure if I’ll be running the Paris marathon in a few weeks but I’m doing all the spin (Psycle) and pilates (Heartcore) to try to retain a bit of fitness but another bummer month in the sh*tshow year of 2025.
