Fitting Remarks: The World Marathon Majors.

May 9, 2017 By Jessie Benson 18 Comments

The World Marathon Majors! There are six different marathons that are part of the "World Marathon Majors." This is a series of the six largest and most renowned marathons in the world: Chicago, New York City, Berlin, London, Tokyo, and Boston. These races are part of a professional athlete series, but what you and I are probably more interested in is the "everyday champion" aspect of the Continue Reading

Friday Five Favorites: My Five Favorite Marathons…so far!

September 9, 2016 By Jessie Benson 13 Comments

Every marathon is special in its own way. I have fond memories of all of them, from the tiny Marathon-to-Marathon in Iowa to the world-renowned Berlin Marathon! As corny as it is, each marathon was an important part of my running journey. I could write a post about what I loved about each and every one, even the ones that were really hot or where I had a disappointing personal performance. With Continue Reading

Fitting Remarks: A Random Running Survey!

July 4, 2015 By Jessie Benson 6 Comments

Happy 4th of July! I don't have anything special planned for you today, so I thought I'd share my answers to a running survey that I saw on Hungry Runner Girl's blog. I'd love for you to answer the questions (or at least some of them!) in the comments or, if you have a blog, share your responses there! Who doesn't love a random survey? And what's more random than my header photo of a tomato Continue Reading

Fits on the Road in Tokyo: The Tsukiji Fish Market

February 27, 2015 By Jessie Benson 4 Comments

The Tsukiji Market is the biggest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world and also one of the largest wholesale food markets of any kind. It is located in Tsukiji in central Tokyo, quite close to the Ginza shopping district. While the inner wholesale market has restricted access to visitors, the outer retail market and restaurants remain a major tourist attraction for both domestic and Continue Reading

Fits Do Race Reviews: The Tokyo Marathon 2015

February 26, 2015 By Jessie Benson 61 Comments

Marathon #18 complete (#22 for Dustin) and this one was one I will never forget! The Tokyo Marathon was an incredible experience. Though my finish time wasn't quite what I had hoped for, I only have positive feelings about this day and this experience. Thank you to the city of Tokyo for hosting such a spectacular event. It was, hands down, one of the coolest marathon experiences of my Continue Reading

Fits on the Road: The Day Before the Tokyo Marathon & the Tokyo Sky Tree

February 25, 2015 By Jessie Benson 4 Comments

Hi there! I haven't had as much time after the marathon to sit down and blog. Leading up to the race, there was a bit more down time since we didn't want to be on our legs too much so I was able to catch up with you here and here. But since then, it's been go, go, go! I have been working on the marathon recap and hope to have that done soon, but first, here are a few pictures from the day Continue Reading

Fits Do Race Reviews: The Tokyo Marathon EXPO

February 21, 2015 By Jessie Benson 3 Comments

The Tokyo Marathon expo was held at the Tokyo Big Sight, a new convention center in Tokyo. source We went to the expo as part of the Marathon Tour group on Friday. Read about the rest of our city tour here. The tour dropped us off and said we had about one hour to spend there. Based on our experience at the Berlin Marathon expo, where we waited in lines many hours, we were both worried that Continue Reading

Thank you for stopping by!

This is my blog about finding The Right "Fit." I'm an avid runner, marathon enthusiast, and fitness experimentalist who uses my little space of the internet to share my passion for and experiences with running and fitness (...and a little about fashion.)

I write mostly about running and my quest to run a marathon in every state and every continent. But you'll also find some information about different fitness classes in the Twin Cities and more.

It was my “PW” time in quite a while (except the wine marathon in Médoc but that doesn’t really count 😆) but after taking several weeks off at an important time of the training block due to a tendon injury (and battling a cold on race day 🤧) I am still proud of myself and happy to have completed another marathon. Thanks to @donalmorancoaching for coaching me through the injury (I’m the first to admit I’m terrible when injured 😑- he’s very patient and thoughtful with his guidance)
